For many people, a new year is a time to reflect. The calendar turns from December to January, 31 to 1 and adds one to the year past.

With the turning of the calendar page, is a time of transition. A transition away from the Winter Solstice on December 21, the shortest day of the year, to days of increasing light. In essence, it is literally a time of leaving the darkness.

And so with the the New Year we can consider what we wish for our New Beginning. What hopes to do have? What goals do we set? What do we leave behind in the darkness?

Taking time to consider these things can chart a positive course in our lives. One that guides us to places we can be and become, our Best Selves, moving with the light.
