March 8th  A Day Without a Woman

The Women’s Movement is encouraging women to stay home from work and to avoid shopping at stores unless they are woman-owned.  The intent is to highlight the critical presence of women to the livelihood of society.  Here is the official statement from the Women’s March on Washington website:

On International Women’s Day, March 8th, women and our allies will act together for equity, justice and the human rights of women and all gender-oppressed people, through a one-day demonstration of economic solidarity.
